Testing as a Service (TaaS)

About TaaS:

Testing as a Service (TaaS) is part of our endeavor to provide a cost-effective solution to our customers for application testing. TaaS is most suitable for specialized testing efforts that don’t require a lot of in-depth knowledge of the design or the system. Services that are well-suited for the TaaS model include automated regression testing, performance testing, security testing, testing of major ERP (enterprise resource planning) software, and monitoring/testing of cloud-based applications.

PPT Delivery Model Types:

We offer Convention Delivery and Testing as a Service (TaaS) models.

Conventional delivery model, a client pays upfront for software, hardware, and one-time development. The customer is responsible for maintaining these scripts. Also, the customer is responsible to execute the scripts based on their required frequency and prepare the test results report.

TaaS model, a client pays for the monthly subscription fee and nothing else. PPT is responsible for maintaining these scripts. Also, PPT is responsible to execute the scripts based on customer-defined test frequency and prepare the test results report. Also, PPT coordinates with the client for defects resolution and retest after resolution.

Refer below table for full details:

Comparisons Conventional Delivery Model Testing as a Service (Minimum one year contract)
Total Cost The upfront cost of development $75 - 100 K + Software cost + Hardware cost Pay per month for a fixed cost of $10 K
OATS software license Client responsibility Included
Hardware cost Client responsibility Included
scripts maintenance Client responsibility Included
Owner Ship The client owns the scripts PPT owns the scripts
Duration 12 - 15 weeks for one-time development and delivery 8 - 10 weeks for service setup
Ongoing execution Client responsible to execute for regression testing
  • PPT executes and consolidate the test result
  • Review the test results and fix non-functional issues (Data or script related issues)
  • Coordinate with client personnel for bug fixing
  • Retest the scenarios after bug fixing
  • Prepare test cycle report

From the above table, we can conclude that in the conventional delivery model, OATS License, Hardware and Maintenance cost is not included and the client will be responsible for the aforementioned. In the TaaS delivery model, the total cost includes the OATS Software License, Hardware and Script Maintenance. However, it’s a service-based model so the client won’t be charged upfront whereas they need to pay a fixed amount per month.

TaaS Benefits:

  • The client need not worry about software purchase or hardware maintenance.
  • PPT is responsible for the development and maintenance of the automated test scripts.
  • Another major advantage is, your applications will be tested to support your release management, implementations or upgrade projects.
