Automated Load Testing – Oracle JD Edwards Application
Project Overview
- Customer is a manufacturer and seller of health supplements across the globe.
- Customer embarked on upgrading their JDE application to JDE 9.2 version.
- The customer planned to test the application with 250 virtual Users by using Oracle OATS Load test component.
Objectives / Challenges
- Customer challenge was to perform OLT to execute the test scripts by applying the load and check the performance of the application and to monitor the JDE Servers performances.
- The customer decided to conduct 2 dry runs of the load test to set up and tune the scripts and 2 iterations of full load test to evaluate the configurations settings effect on the system’s High Load Scenario’s Performance.
- The customer wants to improve system reliability by reducing business risks and reduce the cost of application downtime.
Solution Implemented
- Developed load test scripts using Oracle OATS Load test component (OLT) for 6 representative load test scenarios.
- While performing the load test, captured the load (server statistics) on all other servers that JDE system (Application server, Database ) in real-time, for processing these transactions.
- Developed and customized the load scripts to incorporate the necessary logic to emulate the customer representative business transactions.
- Load testing was simulated in a Production environment using 250 virtual users by ramping up gradually.
Benefits Delivered
- Reduced the cost of failure.
- Minimized the risk related to performance requirements.
- The customer found no performance issues of application at its peak load.
- Increased reliability of the application.
